Resources

Wild Blue Mindfulness intends to offer community resources that support awakening to our true nature and our profound connection to each other and the living world.  We consider awakening as a process both internal/personal, and also engaged with external/relating to others and to the living world.

Wild Blue Mindfulness has a meditation studio co-located with the Ottawa River Psychology Group at 44 Hawthorne Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Wild Blue Mindfulness meditation in nature retreats occur in Canada in the bio-region of the St. Lawrence.

Work That Reconnects Weekend Workshop

On January 11-12, 2019 Wild Blue Mindfulness is co-sponsoring a Joanna Macy inspired Work That Reconnects workshop taught by trained WTR facilitator Patricia Kerr and John Eastcott.

Founder Dr. Joanna Macy has described The Work That Reconnects this way:

“The central purpose of the Work that Reconnects is to help people uncover and experience their innate connections with each other and with the systemic, self-healing powers of the web of life, so that they may be enlivened and motivated to play their part in creating a sustainable civilization.”

What does a Work That Reconnects Workshop involve?

Work That Reconnects is a transformational group process for living in difficult times.  In the confidentiality and safety of a small group guided by experienced facilitators, we will explore our connection to the living world through the following modalities:

  • Dialogue,
  • Movement,
  • Ritual,
  • Play, and
  • Nature connection

Years of offering WTR around the world has shown that the WTR relational practices offer a way forward for individuals and for a community to arrive at resilience, empowerment, connection and active hope.

The WTR Spiral:

The experiential work of a Work That Reconnects workshop follows a spiral sequence flowing through four stages:

  • Gratitude
  • Honoring our pain for the world
  • Seeing with fresh eyes, and
  • Going forth.

The central aim of the Work That Reconnects is to bring us back into relationship with each other and with the self-healing powers in the web of life, motivating and empowering us to reclaim our lives, our communities, and our planet from corporate and colonial rule.

Your Work That Reconnects Co-Facilitators:

Patricia Kerr & John David Eastcott

Patricia Kerr has been engaged with the Work That Reconnects since 2016. Joanna Macy’s autobiography Widening Circles was an inspiration that led her to begin immersing in the work, with a 3-day atelier with  GinaCenciose, a 10 day Intensive Training with Joanna Macy, and a one-year Work That Reconnects Facilitator training. She has co-led WTR workshops in Ottawa, Ontario and in Rigaud, Quebec. She looks forward to sharing more in this St-Laurence/Ottawa River Valley. A grandmother of 6, she manages the office for her family’s business and loves to lead and dance the Dances of Universal Peace.

John Eastcott has studied with Joanna Macy and has offered numerous Work That Reconnects workshops over the years in small and large venues. John offers companionship at the time of dying.
